Valuable information blog

One of the blogs that I subscribe to is the blog called BlogStorm.  The reason I decided to do a free review of the site is actually twofold.  The first reason is that I wanted to give a little link love back (my blog is new so currently it not that much love) because of all the great posts that I have been able to read.  The second reason is that I want to improve my skills of reviewing sites in order for me to be able to get a few paid orders later on.

The way I went about it was to comment on one of the posts that I found interesting over at BlogStorm.co.uk.  In my comment I added that I wanted to do a free review if he was interested and that he had to get back to me using the comment feature on my about me page.  Within 10 minutes I had a message telling me that he would love to get a review.  My first “thumbs up” are for the speed in which comments were read and acted upon.

The BlogStorm blog started out being fast and furious and gained 10,000 backlinks in just 3 weeks.  This number has climbed to 40,000 since then.  I don’t know the details on how the links were build but from what I can read and hear it was mainly due to great content and some effective strategies.  This is also the reason that the blog has hit the front page of Digg several times.  Last time was last week and it resulted in more than 150,000 visitors hitting the page in 5 days.  Unfortunately the webhosting company wasn’t able to handle the traffic so the stats could easily have been higher.

So is everything just perfect and should nothing be improved?  As far as content goes I can’t find anything that needs improvement – well unless posting more of it faster can be considered as a fault.  One topic that I do want to see published on the site is the strategies by which the 10,000 backlinks were obtained.

One thing that I do think could be improved is the site design.  I feel that when you are able to attract that many visitors then a far more money optimized design would do wonders for the conversion rates.  So please keep posting the good stuff but don’t leave money on the table.
