Pinging Services
From reading J. Robinson’s article called Blog Traffic Made Easy I found that even though I was pinging a lot (I thought) of services every time I made a new blog post, I was far from the potential pings I could do.

I his article Don’t Forget to Ping! I got a list of 70 sites that I could ping.  Before adding the sites to my list I believe I was pinging around 14 sites.  So now that I have added almost 4 times as many sites it’ll be interesting to see what kind of benefits that will give in the form of a traffic increase.

I need to give you one warning though. Don’t click the “ping” button just because you can.  If you do it too often your blog will be banned from the services and you do not want that!!

How To Add the Ping Sites
You will need to login to you WordPress admin panel. Then go to Options and find the “Smart Update Pinger”.  This plug-in comes as a standard with a WordPress blog.  If you don’t have the plug-in installed you can find it at Daven.se.  You will be able to find many other pinging plugins for WordPress but the Smart Update Pinger works perfectly.

Add Ping Urls to WordPress

Then you simply copy/paste the list of URLs into the box and click Update Options.  That is it!!
