The site I have picked for this review came from out of nowhere. The site has been up and running since January 2007 but I didn’t notice it until today. Every time I come by a blog that I like (really like), I add it to my list of sites that I want to do a review on as a contribution to the owner of the blog.

My current list has some really high quality sites on it but NetBusinessBlog gave me something that I haven’t seen before and that earned it its place as the site to be reviewed this time.

Design
The design NetBusinessBlog uses might be a theme borrowed from some designer but it can also be their own design. I haven’t seen the design used at other blogs I have visited so far but one never knows. The thing I like about the design is that it is rather simple and there is not too much going on at once.

Keeping some of the top stories above the fold and framed in dark green frames is a great way to give those articles more attention. We all know that not all of our posts are top notch and letting new visitors see some of the best articles upfront will definitely get them to stay a bit longer.

I am normally known to have exceptional eyesight but I do think that the font size used in the articles could be increased just a bit. Especially when reading the long articles I can feel that I need to concentrate more than when reading normal sized text.

Ads Placement
I can understand from what I have read that NetBusinessBlog has spent time testing and tweaking ad placement and I think that they have done a nice job. I can’t point out any articles that interrupt my user experience when reading the articles, except for maybe the Amazon ads when they show completely off topic products.

The top banner ad beside the logo is actually the only “annoying” ad that I’ve seen on the site. I can’t claim that it ruins my reading put I can’t stop noticing that it’s there. The reason might be that it is an animated ad and a static ad might take care of that.

Content Quality
Now this is the part that made me do this review in the first place. I was literally amazed about the information that I found and rarely do I come across a front page where I actually want to read every post written. The writing style is great because it is informative, strait forward and easy to understand. It is clear that the people writing the posts know what they are talking about.

Two of my favorite posts are the ones about creating mini sites. I got so inspired that I just had to create a niche site to test out their suggestions. It really did work (I changed a few things but the idea was the same as the one mentioned) and I can’t wait to see the mini site perform.

I am not the only one that likes the blog’s content and so far +1,600 people have subscribed to the RSS feeds of the site. I know that you can read stories about how people have gotten a lot more subscribers faster than that but in my world that it a fairly good amount to have after approximately 8 months in operation.

Miscellaneous
So what is there to improve? From a user perspective I don’t see any major changes needed but I’m sure that the site could be monetized even better than it currently is. I don’t know the blogs statistics or the monthly revenue but with around 1,600 feed subscribers I believe that they would be able to create a fairly decent monthly income.

Conclusion
I have found a new “must read” blog and I hope that I’ll be able to wake up every day and see a new good article produced. If not, then I can always go back and read up on some of the older articles.

Many bloggers prefer a unique blog design, professional web development partners and of course, their own dedicated servers. New bloggers or bloggers without much traffic might not need dedicated servers to start with. A good rule of thumb is to never rely on cheap web hosting. You might end up loosing your entire site without warning. Personally I rely on hostgator as my primary solution.

One of the blogs that I subscribe to is the blog called BlogStorm. The reason I decided to do a free review of the site is actually twofold. The first reason is that I wanted to give a little link love back (my blog is new so currently it not that much love) because of all the great posts that I have been able to read. The second reason is that I want to improve my skills of reviewing sites in order for me to be able to get a few paid orders later on.

The way I went about it was to comment on one of the posts that I found interesting over at BlogStorm.co.uk. In my comment I added that I wanted to do a free review if he was interested and that he had to get back to me using the comment feature on my about me page. Within 10 minutes I had a message telling me that he would love to get a review. My first “thumbs up” are for the speed in which comments were read and acted upon.

The BlogStorm blog started out being fast and furious and gained 10,000 backlinks in just 3 weeks. This number has climbed to 40,000 since then. I don’t know the details on how the links were build but from what I can read and hear it was mainly due to great content and some effective strategies. This is also the reason that the blog has hit the front page of Digg several times. Last time was last week and it resulted in more than 150,000 visitors hitting the page in 5 days. Unfortunately the webhosting company wasn’t able to handle the traffic so the stats could easily have been higher.

So is everything just perfect and should nothing be improved? As far as content goes I can’t find anything that needs improvement – well unless posting more of it faster can be considered as a fault. One topic that I do want to see published on the site is the strategies by which the 10,000 backlinks were obtained.

One thing that I do think could be improved is the site design. I feel that when you are able to attract that many visitors then a far more money optimized design would do wonders for the conversion rates. So please keep posting the good stuff but don’t leave money on the table.
