Most People Are Quitters

Making Money Online
I believe that this topic is one of the most commonly discussed and most thoroughly described subjects that you will find online.  Actually we’re starting to see the topic in offline medias also as more people are getting internet access and more “ordinary” people are making an extra income through the Internet.

But why is it that this topic is so popular?  I can’t give you any absolute answer to that question but I’ll share some of my thoughts about why I think people find it so fascinating and also why so many people fail at making it.

My very first statement is that it is EASY so make money online!!  You can try to debate me on that one but you’ll have a hard time at it.  The reason I say this is that if I can do it then YOU can do it.  I’m not claiming that you can make a living online or even become extremely wealthy or powerful within a week, a month or a year but to make some kind of money online is easy.

But I believe that the question that you will need to ask yourself is not whether you are ABLE to make money online but rather whether you are willing to spend your time LEARNING how to do it.  I haven’t met many I haven’t met ANYONE that were doing a perfect job on the first day at their new workplace.  You’ll need to learn how to do things the right way and the wrong way.  Both sides are needed and you’ll often learn more from failing than you’ll do by doing it right the first time.

So now that you know that it requires time and a little learning effort to make some money online then let me tell you why I think that so many people are interested in making money online but fail to do so.  I believe that one of the main reasons that people want to make money online is that they think it can be done without any effort.  They’ve read stories about guys making $5,000, $10,000 and even $20,000 online through a blog. Or what about the guy that sold pixels for $1,000,000?

Because the people mentioned above are making a decent income and they have made them using the Internet, does this mean that it is easy and that they didn’t work for it?  Absolutely NOT!  But because of the way that news medias like newspapers, television, radio and magazines portrait them, people get that impression.

It is human nature to want to make money with zero effort but as I said earlier, it WILL require that you spend some time learning and acting in order to make money online.  So here is the dilemma and the reason that I believe most people fail.  They start out by wanting the dream of an online (passive) income. Then they find that they will need to spend time learning new things, apply what they learn and do it consistently for a period of time.  And now they quit because it wasn’t effortless at all.

Was it hard? No, not necessarily. Was it something that they were not capable of? No, most people can read, speak and write so that is not what is stopping them.  It is the “Effortless” part that makes people quit.  These quitters are also the ones that buy lottery tickets every single week (because it is effortless) even though chances of winning are almost hopeless.

This is what I believe but what do you believe?
