Only 3.72% 4-letter domains left?

We all know that short domain names are great as they are easy to remember and that makes them really valuable. Besides they are often used as a short version of companies with long company names. Take examples like NYSE.com or YMCA.com and there are many more.

Find 4 letter domains

I’ve found a tool that will check if domains with 4 letters are available. When I ran the software I found that there are actually only 3.72% domains left. Out of the 456,976 combinations of the 26 letters in the alphabet there are only 17.012 domains left and if you take of the letters Q, W, X, Y and Z there are none left. Scary!!

By testing a few of the taken combination I found that there are tons of parked domains and you should therefore not give up hope. You can still get a 4 letter domain name (what’s up with NYPD.com??) but you might have to pay a little extra.

Go do DYYO to find out what 4 letter domains are left.

You don’t need an online degree to register a 4-letter domain. University of Phoenix as well as Kaplan University are some of the universities that have taken up many of the 4 letter domains. This have made the people from DeVry University angry because they believe that they are just parking them.
